Triund is one of the famous trekking destinations in Himachal. Located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at an elevation of 2850m(9350ft.) it is an amazing trekking destination for everyone the difficulty level is easy to moderate, offering the scenic view of mountains and the Kangra district. Dhauladhar range can be spotted  The trek can be commenced from Mcleodganj or Dharmkot by enjoying the beauty of nature and gazing at the beautiful view in the way. the first half of the trek is an inclined walk with the straight climb in the last 2km.

If you want to experience the snow then you should definitely visit in winters to have a bewitching experience. the trek starts from the Gallu Devi temple or from Dharmkot . from Dharamshala it is located at the distance of 17kms. Depending on the person how much they want to walk accordingly they can choose their starting point The trek doesn’t get over after reaching Triund you can further explore the Kareri lake where you will find some caves.

  1. Dal lake

Dal lake is the in the Kangra district of Mcleodganj Himachal Pradesh at an elevation of 1775m. The dal lake is surrounded by mountains, forest of deodar trees .on the bank of dal lake there is a temple of lord shiva . in the month of September the number of visitors is more as the fair is organized in remembrance of lord shiva  which attracts the people of gaddi tribe and mostly visited by this tribe.it is the perfect picnic spot and to gaze at mountains at the shore of lake.

  1. Naddi viewpoint

Naddi viewpoint is in Mcleodganj from where you can have the view of Dhauladhar range from the very close distance there is no trekking involved just the view and you. you can also enjoy some food near the cafes and shops which have really special delicacies to offer and yaa also the street food. Naddi is the starting point of most of the treks.

  1. Namgyal Monastery

It is believed that the Namgyal monastery is the abode of Dalai Lama, it is located in Mecleodganj also known as the largest Tibetan temple outside Tibet. the sense of peace and tranquility that you experience will make you intrigued to know more about the place and people. the Namgyal monastery is also known as the ‘Dalai Lama’s temple’. The foundation was laid in the 16th century by the second Dalai Lama and was set up for the monks so they may help in Dalai Lama’s affairs. This monastery works as the center of learning meditation and practice, it was also known as Namgyal tantric college in which the English language, Tibetan is taught, the text of sutras and tantras and Buddhist philosophy are taught.

  1. Tsuglagkhang

Tsuglagkhang is the temple where Dalai Lama used to reside in Mcleodganj. it is a remarkable place to worship, there is a beautiful statue of lord buddha, Chenrezig and guru rinpoche. the museum inside the Tsuglagkhang is the most preferable by tourists houses many imprints of art and culture. this museum gives an idea about the place the culture and the struggles faced by them. The design of the Tibetan museum is influenced by Tibetan architecture which has a distinctive style.

  1. Bhagsu Waterfalls

Bhagsu waterfall is a famous tourist spot in Dharamshala. The Bhagsu waterfall is located on the main road which connects Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. This is the perfect place to have some peace and enjoy besides the waterfall. The Bhagsu waterfall looks even more beautiful in the time of monsoon season its alluring beauty will mesmerize you when the waterfalls at the height of 30ft. You will find some cafes near the waterfall which serves tea and snacks so that you can enjoy the fullest.you can have bath in the waterfall which will rejuvenate you but the water is bit cold and the trek to Bhagsunag is enjoyable due to view you can spot water flowing downwards and can get some good pictures clicked there.

  1. Bhagsunag temple

Bhagsunag temple is known as the oldest temple located 3km away from Mecleodganj. there are two pools around the temple and its believed that the water in the pool has some healing properties. the Bhagsunag temple is situated on the way to Bhagsu waterfalls it is the great tourist attraction. The tourist stops at the temple and seek blessings, spend some time at the temple and then move further.

  1. Tibetan museum

Mcleodganj is famous for the Tibetan museum it signifies the work of Tibetan workmanship which includes history reports, earthenware, handiwork, and other canvas designs. it was built in the Tibetan style a traditional yellow and white color. The exterior of the museum emits positive energy which attracts the people to come and visit the museum. inside the museum is filled with paintings, exhibitions, documentary screening, photographs. a video is played out there which provides all the basic information about the culture and place. Tibetan museum tells the children a lot about the culture and place hence, the best place to increase their knowledge.
