This start-up is creating novel ways to make our school children future-ready

iTinker( ), a blended learning platform by a Chandigarh based start-up, 3D WE, is implementing novel ways to teach school children the skills and technologies necessary for future success. Through a series of hands-on classroom activities, combined with structured online course content, the platform takes students through a game-like journey and covers all aspects of converting an idea into a sellable product.

iTinker is based on a simple insight on why certain ecosystems grow and thrive – they provide their members’ ample opportunities to grow via three primary media – Learn, Communicate and Participate. Meaning there’s a certain amount of learning content to onboard the members into the ecosystem and take them via a fun and engaging learning journey. At the same time, they are able to learn from one another in an open and transparent communication environment. And finally, they are able to showcase their ability via participating periodically in events and competitions.

itinker, 3D WE, edutech, edtech, education, smart education, start upNot only that,  iTinker also brings together the best of global learning processes. It’s founder, Ashish Jain, spent the last four years working in Finland, whose education system is considered the best in the world. There he got a front-seat view on understanding the Finnish system’s effectiveness in creating socially-conscious and productive members of society. And his conclusion was fairly simple – Finnish people create ecosystems where children are encouraged to experiment and fail, where they’re exposed to the companies that are building the economy. An ecosystem where they are aware of what the future holds in store for them!

And so Ashish came back to India a few months ago and started his social enterprise, aimed precisely at solving the challenge that is the Indian education system. With iTinker, 3D WE is able to provide school students a platform (both online and in-person) where they can discuss, openly & informally, topics around future technologies and their impact on the society in the upcoming decades. And make better life choices on the basis of the information, they are able to share with one another.

Do visit to know exactly how these guys are entering into this uncharted territory and how their experience has been so far. And of course, things that they are looking forward to.
